Spring at the Children's Lake

The weather has been beautiful so we stopped at the lake on our way home from church to take a little walk. About half way around I had to stop and feed Abby so Daniel entertained himself by playing with the ugliest duck I have ever seen! They kind of chased each other around a bit but Daniel didn't want to get too close.

While I was sitting on the bench feeding Abby, Daniel informed me that he had to pee. There are no bathrooms of any sort any where near us and I have a baby on my boob. So - I tell him to pee behind a tree. The poor little guy tried to squat instead of doing it standing up and managed to get most of the pee on his pants. A change of clothes was back at the car but we had to walk the rest of the way around the lake with wet pee pants to get there. I felt so bad.

Abigail is Four Months Old

Our little Sunshine is four months old! 24 1/2 inches long and 12 lb 10 oz. That puts her somewhere around 50% height and 20% weight.

We can't get enough of her and neither can Daniel. He just loves to give her hugs and kisses and will stop mid play to run over and see her if she makes a cute noise.

Abby is the most pleasant little thing with a smile that lights up the room. She doesn't even seem to mind that she is mostly ignored. Laying on her back kicking and batting her toys seems to bring her enough enjoyment most of the time. For the most part she is just carried around while Mommy goes about her day and is plopped down when Kat needs two hands to do something. When she does get talked to and played with she talks and squeals and giggles. She can roll from her tummy to her back but is usually too lazy to bother to try and just gets mad that she is forced to do tummy time at all. When I take her to church the ladies still line up to hold her. She is a distraction too -- she's not noisy just too pretty. People watch her instead of singing!

G.G.'s Birthday

We had a wonderful evening in celebration of G.G. (Jason's maternal grandmother) 80somethingth birthday. What a blessing to us all to have her a part of our lives. Daniel helped rearrange the Happy Birthday candles when no one was looking and found it quite funny.

Happy Birthday! We love you!!!

Little Mr. Fix It

Daniel loves to help his Daddy and Grandfathers fix things. Grandpop's chair was wobbly and needed fixing. . .

I just think he is too cute.

Kai's Party

Kai's third birthday party bash was Daniel's first party since we have moved back to the area! He loves to play with Aiden and Kai so this was a great time. Kai had a full-fledged Cars themed party complete with a house full of decorations, games, crafts, kids, and food. Way to go Steph!

Abby checking out the action

Daniel being surprisingly sweet to this little girl. (He usually tries to tackle them, knock them over, or do something else equally atrocious.)

Uneventful February

This month has been flying by! I didn't take many pictures and can't really remember what we did! Each week has Bible Study and a day with Grandma, either library or a play date Wednesday and MOPS or a play date Thursday. Daily, this is what we do. . .

Ignore Abby while she plays happily by herself.

Watch a Show (usually Cars with his Cars)

Tummy Time

Reading Lots and Lots of Stories

No More Footed Jammies

I went up to check on Daniel last night and this is what I found!

(He is totally nude under that towel.) My best guess based on the evidence on the bathroom floor is that Daniel woke up and had to pee. He took off his jammies, the one piece zip up kind, and his diaper, went potty but then couldn't get any of the stuff back on. What to do. . . grab a towel and go back to bed! Since it is cold, just curl up in a ball.

After I took the picture, I put a pull up and a shirt on him then pulled the blankets up. I then took all his one piece jammies out of the drawer and placed them up on a shelf until I can teach him how to put them on himself.

Daniel fought me for months about potty training and one day shortly after I told him I didn't care any more and he could do what he wanted, he decided that he was going to pee on the potty all the time (he has been doing his poops on the potty for a while now). He's now only wet when he wakes up from naps and in the morning. We are so proud of him. Each week that he stays dry we'll give him a special prize - so far he has earned a Red Shake n Go. Sarge and a Cars tent are waiting for weeks two and three of being dry.

Abby's First Tooth

My little over achiever already has her first tooth! Daniel was eight months when he got his first so this is very unexpected and kind of sad. I am going to miss out on months of gummy grins and giggles.
